114 years ago, back on 5 Jan 1909, the official government weather station in the town of Bourke, New South Wales, recorded a temperature of 125°F (51.7°C). Look at this archived excerpt from the Sydney Morning Herald.

However, the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) denied this happened and they have deleted the record from history, claiming (a century later) that this was an “observational error” and “no other station in NSW or southern Queensland is known to have exceeded 47.2C (117°F) on this day”.
The nearest official government weather station to Bourke in 1909 was at Brewarrina - 100km away - and it recorded a similar spike in temperatures on that day with the mercury hitting 123°F (50.6°) - as reported by The Sydney Morning Herald on 5th Jan 1909. See above photo again.
The Bureau of Meteorology are lying!

““That the Bureau of Meteorology denies these record hot days is a travesty,” he claimed.
“Is it because these records contradict their belief in catastrophic human-caused global warming?”

BOM is making 'the present seem warmer' by 'cooling the past'
Many more photographs from the Australian National Archive at Chester Hill in western Sydney can be viewed here at the website of Jennifer Marohasy, BSc PhD, who is a critical thinker with expertise in the scientific method. Marohasy was interviewed in December 2019 on Sky News in this short video. Records of previous high temperatures have been DELETED from the BOM records that don't toe the current fallacy that our temperatures are increasing due to human-caused global warming.
The extent of the mainstream media's ongoing distortion of the truth in regard to Climate Change is remarkable.
