Pastor Paul Robert Burton has been exposing what he calls “state-condoned child trafficking” for around seven years. He and other dedicated advocates say that child removal is structured like a business enterprise and that many are cashing in on it. Children are often unjustly removed from their parents, never to be reunited.
The national recurrent spending on child protection and out-of-home care was $7.5 billion in 2020–21.
